Once again, the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar are hosting this years Ribfest at the beautiful Sheridan College campus on Trafalgar Road. This expansive paved site means we have more ribs, more music, more things to see and do, more fun for the kids, more sweet treats, and more enjoyment with friends and family all weekend long. He has been a volunteer in many rotary committees and presently is on the Ribfest steering committee as the Beer Tent chair . Jim has been a resident of Oakville and is a Chiropractor at Maplegrove Chiropractic Clinic. He is married to Carolyn and has 3 children . Barb is the proud mother of three adult children and Nonna to her beautiful grandson. CLOSE Security Bev Thomson Has been a Rotarian for 15 years and joined the Ribfest Steering Committee last year. She has recently retired from the Ontario Public Service where she held various positions in the criminal justice sector. She is the security lead and can be found at the security trailer speaking on a walkie talkie for most of the event. CLOSE Recycling Paul Branscombes Oakville resident for over twenty years. Keeping it clean in the Ribfest Recycling committee – Recycling Committee. CLOSE Cliff Thompson Cliff is from Toronto and has been a Rotarian for over 20 years with 3 different clubs. He is retired but held various positions in manufacturing in Canada and the USA during his career. He has been Chair of Logistics since the Ribfest began and is Co-Chairing the event this year. He is married and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren. CLOSE Chair Trish Peden Trish has been a proud Rotary member for 26 years. She is Past Present (1998-99) and is the Chair of the Oakville Family Ribfest for the past six years. Trish has two children and one grandchild. In her business world, Trish is a Thermal Imaging Specialist and Trainer as well as a UAV Pilot. CLOSE Volunteers Karen Milner Born and raised in Jamaica and a proud Canadian for forty years, Karen lives and works in Oakville where she runs her own editing and publishing consulting company. A thirty-year veteran of the book publishing industry, Karen has been a book lover and voracious reader all her life. Her other main loves in life are her husband, step-daughter, and two wheaten terriers. A Rotarian for three years and counting, she has actively participated from day one on various committees and on the board. She is co-chair of the Ribfest volunteer committee. CLOSE Entertainment Ken Coulter Has been a Rotarian with Oakville Trafalgar over 25 years. He has lived and worked in Oakville since 1980. He is retired from the entertainment business, where he was well known in Oakville and across the province as the General Manager of Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts. He is a past president of RCOT and is active in many areas of Ribfest and other Rotary Fundraising and events. He is married with two children, has a PUN –ishing sense of humour. CLOSE Artisan Vendors Jennifer Kay Grew up in Oakville, and joined the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar – where her father, Barry, was a member – in 2000. She has been active in International Service, and is passionate about aid work in Africa. She joined the Ribfest Steering Committee at the beginning, and takes responsibility for organizing the Kids’ PlayZone and the Artisan Alley & Community Marketplace areas. Jennifer is also passionate about the Irish band U2, and will miss her first day of Ribfest in six years when she will be at the band’s show in Toronto on Friday night! CLOSE Vendors Ken Auden A lifelong resident of Oakville and Trafalgar , Ken has been a Rotarian for ten years. He has been the Coordinator – Food Vendors on the Ribfest Steering Committee since its first year. Through his involvement with United Way, Literacy South Halton and Rotary’s Community Service committee, Ken has a passion for effectively serving our local community. CLOSE Sponsorship Raj Phalpher Thirty years ago, Raj moved to Oakville from the High Park area in Toronto with his wife, Gogi, and their two sons. He has been Rotarian for the past 15 fifteen years, and on the board of the Oakville Trafalgar club for the past ten. Together with Trish Peden and Brian Simpson, he was instrumental in initiating the Oakville Family Ribfest, now in its sixth year.
