Visit five different locations with designated driving provided by Taste Halifax. SEPTEMBER 28, 7-10pm Friday evening The festival kicks off the first amateur round of the . Raw oysters, local libations and a live band kick off the 2018 festival. 19+ SEPTEMBER 29, 2-5pm Saturday afternoon Raw oysters, local libations and great food during the day plus round two of the amateur Nova Scotia Shucking Championship makes for a wonderful afternoon. SEPTEMBER 29, 7-10pm Saturday evening A high-energy evening to end the festival, where bragging rights for the Nova Scotia Shucking Championship is up for grabs. Oysters, drinks, good eats and a live band! 19+ OYSTER FARMS If you've been to the festival before, you might be wondering if it could get any better. The answer is it can, and it did! For visitors coming to Halifax for Oyster Fest, we've put together a special package with the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. Stay on the waterfront, slurp at the festival and enjoy. Halifax Oyster Festival is home to the Nova Scotia Oyster Shucking Championship. This year the festival will rename the trophy to the John Bil Memorial Trophy in honour of John Bil, "icon in Canadian seafood" according to restauranteur David McMillan. Bil was a host and judge in the first year's of the Halifax Oyster Festival and was very generous with his time and wisdom.  The Friday and Saturday afternoon sessions open to amateur shuckers.
