2018 Elks Canadian Curling Championships — Elks of Canada 2018 Elks Canadian Curling Championships Wednesday, March 7, 2018 8:30 AM 08:30 Saturday, March 10, 2018 12:00 AM 00:00 Pidherney Curling Centre 4725 43 Street Red Deer, AB, T4N 6Z3 Canada Dear Brother and Sister Elks: The 2018 Elks of Canada National Curling Championship will be hosted by the Red Deer Elks Lodge No. 85. Please, seriously consider participating in this event. The event will be held at the Pidhurney Curling Centre, a new 12 sheet facility in downtown Red Deer. Most of the evening and daytime events will be hosted at our Lodge. This event is open to all Royal Purple Elks and Elks as well as prospective members. Each team is only required to have two members on the team. There are championships for Ladies, Mixed, Men, Senior, and Master events. The following details provide the information for the event. Curling Schedule and Entry Fee: March 7 7:00 pm Team Registration and Social Red Deer Elks Lodge March 8 9:00 am Curling-First Draw Pidhurney Curling Centre 11:30 am Opening Ceremonies Pidhurney Curling Centre 12:15 pm Curling Pidhurney Curling Centre 7:00 pm Steak Dinner and Social Red Deer Elks Lodge March 9 9:00 am Curling Pidhurney Curling Centre 7:00 pm Funny Money Casino Red Deer Elks Lodge March 10 9:00 am Semi-Final and Finals Curling Pidhurney Curling Centre 6:00 pm Awards Banquet and Social Pidhurney Centre/Elks Lodge Team entry fees will be $260.00 payable to: Red Deer Elks c/o Hugh Lockhart 27076 TWP 380 Red Deer AB T4 E 1A8 or on March 7th at the Team Registration. Deadline for team entry is February 15, 2018 . If your lodge wishes to convey a message to the curlers participating in this event, please send a cheque to: BPO Elks Red Deer No. 85, Box 611, Red Deer AB T4N 5G6 Full Page $100 1/2 page $75 1/4 page $50 Accommodations: The curling event will be held in Red Deer and the Baymont Inn and Convention Centre is a 2 minute walk to the Curling rink. The Hotel has offered a $99 per night room rate and this includes a morning buffet breakfast. Taxes are about $9. They have blocked off 60 rooms for our event. Should be fun having all the curlers at one site. There will be transportation around the City and to any afternoon or evening events should you require these services. The Elks Club is located about 10 minutes from the downtown curling and accommodation sites. The National Curling Championship Committee urges all Lodges across Canada to consider sending a team or individual curlers to this event. The committee will do its best to accommodate individual entries by placing them on a team. The goal of this event is to promote Elkdom, please seriously consider participating. Some funds are available from Grand Lodge to assist members travelling long distances to defray travel cost.
